This should contain: -A summary of the plot AND purpose for chapters 1-12. Each chapter should have 1-2 sentences. -Please submit a hard copy (printed) next Monday/Tuesday.

Today is an extra-short class, but I'd like to see where you are with ITW. Here's the agenda: 1) Question of the day! 2) ITW reading questions: Each student will receive ONE prompt from ch. 3, 4, 5, or 6. Respond in a one-paragraph, short-answer essay (file below). I'll collect them after 20 minutes. 3) If there's time, we'll finish up the remaining presentations. If not, we will watch those final presentations Monday and Tuesday. Reminders: *Starting on chapter 7 on Monday/Tuesday *Escape Room field trip on Wednesday!
This week is pretty straight forward--both days. Take a look:
1) Question of the day; 2) Presentations 60-75 min; 3) Read chapters 3 & 4, 5 & 6 of Into the Wild. Goal: To complete Into the Wild by October 9. It's the end of another week--congratulations! For Friday, here's the agenda (and attachments below) 1) Question of the day; 2) Turnitin.com logins: submit your photo-essay IN-CLASS; 3) Thesis & Introduction Powerpoint. Reminders: *You'll be presenting your photo-essays next week, so practice your presentation & get it to 3-5 minutes. *Make sure to read through ch. 2 in Into the Wild by next week. We'll pick up on chapter 3 on Monday/Tuesday!
It's finally here...the day we're reading Into the Wild. Here's the lowdown on our day:
1) Question of the day; 2) Boggle! Let's Play; 3) Root Trees #2; 4) Read chapter 1 Into the Wild as a class. If you don't have access to the book, or can't get it quite before class starts, here's a link to a free version: http://www.metropolitancollege.com/Into%20The%20Wild.pdf After drafting for a while, it's sometimes helpful to have a fellow student look over your work. These peer review sessions can assist you in identifying your strengths, weaknesses, and provide ideas for revision. Here's what the plan looks like:
1) Question of the day; 2) Collect Critical Responses #2 3) Stare at the Purple Dot Activity; 4) What does peer review look like? What DOESN'T it look like? 5) Peer Review exchange; Reminders: *Into the Wild begins on Wednesday/Thursday! *Submit your revised photo-essay on FRIDAY (we'll do this during class) *POLS start Monday! Start practicing your photo-essay presentation! Now, I know we were supposed to move on to information literacy, but I felt conferencing with each of you was more important! So, for 9.7 & 9.8, plan on continuing to draft your photo-essays while I withdraw each of you for a 5-10 minute conference.
