(attached) 3) Finish 12 Years a Slave 4) Understanding the structure of a narrative, and its purpose (handout attached) 5) HW: Bring a folk tale/fairy tale that you enjoyed as a child, or find one that stems from your ancestors' origins. Open the pdf (attached below). 4) Grab your "question sheet" from the brown table (paperclipped in the 6/8, 10/12 stack, respectively). 5) P. 6/8: read from page 60-page 80 (or further); P. 10/12: read from page 68-page 90 (or further). 6) In your small groups, read together--silently or together, doesn't matter--and stop every few pages to summarize. What's happening? What is the experience Coates is talking about?
